TENNIS

Villagers, Visitors and Guests have many opportunities for competitive and recreational tennis play at Monte Vista Village Resort. With eight lighted courts available for Round Robin, Instruction, Social Mixers and Invitational Play, every tennis aficionado in the Village can enjoy prime-play court time.

Monte Vista´s tennis organization is open to all Villagers of Monte Vista and has quadrupled their membership in the past ten years. With over 235 club members of varying levels, the Monte Vista Tennis Association uses the traditional ranking system of 1.5 through 5.0 to evenly match players for competitive and enjoyable play.

As a member of Monte Vista Tennis Association, Villagers are also members of the East Valley Tennis League. Any member rated at or above 1.5 is eligible to play in league matches. Currently the East Valley Senior Tennis League counts over 2,400 active senior adults from 17 East Valley Resorts as members.

Tennis is very much a part of the active retirement lifestyle at Monte Vista and we welcome you to participate. Want to join in a rousing game of tennis, bat a few balls around, or wish to attend one of the many activities hosted by the Tennis Club? If so, then be sure to visit the Deuce Caboose where sign-up sheets, rosters and Tennis News are posted. Tennis Lessons are also available for a nominal fee of $50 for five one-hour lessons with a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association.

TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Monte Vista was proud to be the major sponsor of the "Valley of the Sun Annual Invitational Senior Tennis Tournament". It was held here at Monte Vista and other locations throughout the East Valley, in early April of 2007. There were over 600 participants from all over the world. This tournament was exciting and challenging for all who participated.

With the required level of play exceeding 3.0, these active adults are at the top of their game and are exciting to watch as they battle for the finals.

On our Post Tension Concrete Courts, Monte Vista´s Tennis Organization will put to the test the skills and abilities of others in this fast-paced tournament designed to highlight the tennis game of adults 50 plus.
